well... i have had no regular activity on this community since summer 2006... i guess life has changed considerably for me in the last few years and i don´t spend that much time online any more. that, however, does not mean i have not been spending so much time with my camera.
i have been trying to figure out what is the best way to keep my images safe and accessible in full resolution, specially after a series of hard disk failures and faulty dvd´s... i keep losing a lot of images, and that is not a happy thought.
at the same time, i keep trying to upgrade my equipment and become much more effective in terms of weorkflow and cost, photography is expensive.
latest changes involve an upgrade to a nikon D300s. and one thing i´d like to work on is change my ikelite underwater housing for my D200 and get one for the newer D300s.
I have come across several options.
the first one would be continue with ikelite, but i am not convinced. it is bulky and heavy, although the results are great, im sure other brands would be similar.
this brings me to hugyfot... by far the most atractive option considering i would mainly use it for surfing photography and hopefuly some scuba diving. this is also one of the most expensive housings.
i have been looking around at surf photographers sites ant investigating a little on what equipment they use and i have found a whole new set of brands that seem as much more specific to this sport... but again, i have doubts on how much control is lost and if i could use it for diving aswel.

the last and cheapest option i found is ewa-marine. basicaly a ziplock bag where you put your camera, with a grip and you can also use a flash without buying another expensive strobe.
im still reading reviews and reading up on the subject... hopefuly ill be posting some underwater or surf images taken with the new camera soon enough.
